Who built RestWell, why it exists, and the principles that guide every decision we make.
Cemeteries hold the most permanent records any community keeps. They deserve better than filing cabinets and pencil annotations.
RestWell began when Santiago Reeves spent time working alongside cemetery administrators in Arizona and noticed the same pattern everywhere: dedicated people doing careful, important work with tools that hadn't changed in decades. Plot maps drawn by hand. Deed records stored in binders. Families calling the front office because there was no other way to find their loved one's location.
The death care industry has been underserved by technology — not because the problems are hard, but because few software builders take the time to understand the quiet, particular needs of this work. RestWell exists to close that gap.
RestWell is led by Santiago Reeves, working out of Arizona. Santiago's background spans operations management and community-facing technology, with a persistent interest in industries that matter deeply but attract little attention from the tech world.
Every name carved in stone deserves a record that will outlast the stone itself. That's what we're building. — Santiago Reeves, Founder
The team is small and deliberate. We answer every inquiry personally. We visit every cemetery we onboard. We believe the best way to build software for this industry is to spend time inside it.
A public list of operating principles. We measure ourselves against it.
This work touches families at their most vulnerable. Every interface, every notification, every word in the platform is written with that weight in mind.
Data is stored redundantly, exported freely, and formatted for longevity. Your records belong to you. If RestWell ceased to exist tomorrow, your data would survive intact.
Families should never feel like they're interacting with software. The platform disappears behind the service it enables. If someone notices the technology, we've failed.
Cemetery budgets are modest. We price accordingly. No per-plot fees that scale with your property size. No surprise charges. The pilot period is genuinely free.
We never sell cemetery data. We never share it with third parties. You can export everything at any time in standard formats. There is no lock-in.
Every feature in the platform was shaped by feedback from working cemetery administrators. We don't build what we think cemeteries need; we build what they tell us they need.
Questions, feedback, partnership inquiries, or just a note from someone in the industry — we read everything and respond personally. The founder's address is below; it goes directly to the founder.
